FRP
Fiberglass Reinforced Plastics
FRP, Fiberglass Reinforced Plastics, is a comprehensive line of sheet
and profiles which are both nonconductive and corrosion resistant.
Pound for pound, these FRP products are stronger than steel. Weighing 80% less than steel,
these fiberglass pultrusions have tensile strengths of 30,000
psi. FRP products are a combination of fiberglass reinforcement and thermoset
polyester or vinyl ester resin systems.
FRP sheet and profiles offer the engineer, architect, maintenance
man and fabricator a structural material for solving many design
and plant engineering problems. Where environmental conditions
indicate, FRP provides a blend of properties to cope with corrosion problems.
In addition to its corrosion resistant characteristics, FRP is nonconductive, nonmagnetic and dimensionally stable. Choose
from three types: Type 500, the standard, all purpose series,
Type 525 which is fire retardant or type 625 with vinyl ester
resins for superior corrosion resistance.
