CPVC
CPVC is an acronym for Chlorinated Polyvinyl Chloride. CPVC possesses the same outstanding chemical resistance of PVC, but offers superior performance to PVC in applications where higher heat resistance is required.
CPVC will handle most water-base chemicals at temperatures up to 215
degrees F, 60 degrees higher than PVCCPVC is 195 degrees F (90 degrees C) and for short term exposure up
to 230 degrees F (110 degrees C). Whereas, PVC has a maximum permissible temperature on a constant and short
term basis of 140 degrees F (60 degrees C).
Although more difficult than PVC, CPVC can be thermowelded. Chemical bonding of the product is similar
to that of PVC.
